Tamil Nadu MBBS admissions 2019: DME releases merit list for management and government quota

NEW DELHI, July 6: Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu, state selection committee has released the provisional merit list of TN MBBS/BDS 2019 for government and management quota seats on July 6, 2019. The authority has released the result in the form of PDF. After much delay and speculations of expected release date being shifted from July 2 to 4, the state finally released the provisional rank lists. The merit list for IRT eligible and minority category candidates for admission to minority colleges still remains unannounced. 25,641 students have qualified the examination under Management quota and 31,353 students have secured a rank under Government quota. The counselling is expected to commence from July 8, 2019

How to download the merit list?

To download the merit list candidates have to follow the steps given below:

  1. Visit the official website tnhealth.org

  2. Under the ‘notification’ section click on the first notification for merit list of management quota

  3. Click on the second link for provisional merit list of government quota.

  4. Download the pdfs for future references.

Sigh of relief for candidates and their families

Announcement of the provisional Tamil Nadu NEET merit list 2019 comes as a sigh of relief to the candidates who appeared for NEET and also to their parents. Twitter had seen much unrest from students and parents, release of results is sure to calm down their discontentment.

Past Events

Earlier on July 2, 2019,, the authority had withheld the release of merit list and asked candidates to submit their documents for verification along with the application forms. It must also be noted that the release date of TN MBBS rank list as mentioned in the prospectus was July 2.

What next?

Although the release of merit list for Minority category candidates for admission to minority colleges is not announced yet, but the candidates of management and government quota should gear up for their counselling process. DME, Tamil Nadu is expected to begin the counselling from July 8. However, the official notification, mentioning the date, time, venue and ranks of candidates who have to report for completion of admission process.

Students who are listed in the provisional Tamil Nadu MBBS merit list must report at the venue as per their rank. Before the counselling process, the allotment letter should be downloaded and must be carried along with the relevant documents.
