Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS merit list delayed

Aforementioned, the merit list is now expected to be released either on July 6 or 8, 2019. As per the media reports, the counselling body is planning to have an all party meeting to decide the pattern in which the seats will be increased to accommodate the candidates belonging under Economically Weaker Section (EWS). In the situation of the state accepting this quota, seats in all the medical colleges will increase by 25%, this is why the state selection committee is demanding time to decide and plan the same.

The counselling committee has asked nearly 3000 candidates to submit their original form for verification. G. Selvarajan, selection committee secretary while talking to a newspaper said, “It can be verified after we release the rank list too, but we wanted to make sure we have the documents”.

Twitterati express disappointment

People's outrage and discomfort on the state council’s delay in releasing the TN NEET rank list can be seen by their tweets on twitter. Parents are worried about the future of their wards and the candidates are disappointed by the councils delay on the issue. Speculations are being made that all this is because of Tamil Nadu government’s disapproval of NEET.

Requesting to release the merit list or notice of postponement, the tweet mentions, “Please release the state merit list for Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS admission. The prospectus says the merit list should have been released on 2nd July. Conflicting reports in the media just adds to the uncertainty. It is time the DME does issue an official notification.” quote-mbbs-merit-list-tweet

This tweet is followed by many other tweets where the people are showing their anger and concerns on the delay.

NEET and Tamil Nadu!

Tamil Nadu is a state which is against the format of NEET since the very beginning. Their election manifesto for 2019 also had a promise of removal of the format of NEET for their state, this somewhere is speculated to be the reason behind the recurring problems in the proper implementation of NEET 2019 related admission process. However, no official notification regarding the same or explanation for the delay has been posted.
