NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) has started giving out registration forms for the Tamil Nadu National means-cum-merit Scholarship Scheme Examination 2024-2025 (TN NMMS). The registration forms are available on the official website, apply1.tndge.org.

The DGE will conduct the Tamil Nadu NMMS exam on February 22, 2025. Students who clear will be offered a scholarship worth Rs 12,000 per annum. The application fee for the registration of TN NMMS is Rs 50.

The scholarship exam is held for Class 8 students studying in Tamil Nadu government and government-aided schools.

Tamil Nadu NMMS 2025: Eligibility, question paper

Students applying for taking the NMMS test must be enrolled in state government, government-aided, or local body schools. To be eligible the student's household income should also be less than Rs 3,50,000.

Tamil Nadu NMMS 2024 question paper will be based on the syllabus of Classes 7 and 8. The NMMS 2023-24 will be divided into two tests: Mental ability test (MAT) and scholastic abilities test (SAT).

Each test will have 90 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The duration of each paper is 90 minutes. The students' nonverbal and verbal meta-cognitive abilities, such as reasoning and critical thinking, will be examined in the mental ability test. While the SAT will test candidates' knowledge on science, social studies and mathematics.
