TGBIE extends 1st year intermediate admissions 2026-27 deadline to August 15; criteria

The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has extended the admission schedule for 1st year Intermediate courses (Class 11) 2026-27 upto August 15, 2026. As per the official notice, the new deadline is applicable to all categories of institutions across the state, including government, private aided and unaided, residential, welfare, and composite junior degree colleges.

The board directed that students must submit their Aadhaar number for the admission into private aided / private unaided / Co-operative / T.G. residential / T.G. social welfare residential/ T.G. tribal welfare residential / T.G. model / KGBV / TGMRJC/ BC welfare / Incentive junior colleges/ composite degree colleges and Government junior colleges in Telangana.

The official notice reads, “During the period of admissions the managements are requested to display prominently at the entrance of the building the. number of sections sanctioned by the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education for the academic year 2026-27, the number of seats filled up in each section and the number of seats vacant in each section. This information should be updated on a daily basis.”

As per the notice, in areas where separate girls' colleges are not available, one-third (33.33%) of the total seats in each category will be reserved for girl students. All the colleges are instructed to take measures to ensure security to girl students.

The board stated that admissions will be based on students' performance in the qualifying examination, taking into account the grade point average (GPA) along with the subject-wise grade points or marks. The notice also makes it clear that junior colleges are not permitted to conduct their own admission tests. If found, they will face strict action by the authorities.
