TISS to use CAT scores for 3 postgraduate programmes from academic year 2025-26; eligibility criteria

NEW DELHI: The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has announced that it will use the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 scores for admissions to three of its Master of Business Administration (MBA) programmes starting in the 2025-26 academic year. The specific programmes that will require CAT scores include the MA in Human Resource Management and Labour Relations (HRM and LR), the MA in Organisation Development, Change and Leadership, and the Master of Hospital Administration.

The TISS official notice read, “The Tata Institute of Social Sciences will use the CAT 2024 score for short-listing, selecting the candidates for the mentioned postgraduate programmes. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the Programme.”

TISS MBA Programme 2024: Eligibility criteria

Candidates can have a look at the eligibility criteria for TISS MBA programme below.

  • Candidates should have successfully completed bachelor’s or master’s degree of minimum of 3 or 4 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India.
  • At the time of applying candidates studying in 3-year degree programmes are required to have passed in all the subjects for the 1st to 4th semesters and candidates studying in 4-year degree programmes should have passed in all the subjects for the 1st to 6th semester.
  • The candidates are required to have a minimum of 2 years (24 months) of full-time work experience after completing the graduation (as on May 1, 2024). After selection in the programme the candidate are required to produce- (a) Authentic work experience certificate (b) Pay slips, appointment letters, and relieving letters from the organisation (c) Statements of current (business) accounts, Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration of the firm, and company registration certificate (for candidates having experience in Entrepreneurship or working in a Family Business.

CAT 2024 exam on November 24

The CAT 2024 registration commenced on August 1. The deadline to submit the CAT 2024 registration form is September 13. The CAT 2024 exam date is November 24. The CAT 2024 exam will be conducted across 170 cities in three shifts: the first shift from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, the second shift from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and the third shift from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

CAT 2024 exam pattern

The CAT 2024 exam will comprise three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). The CAT 2024 exam will be held in online mode. The medium of exam will be English. The exam will include a total of 66 questions. According to the CAT 2024 marking scheme, candidates will earn 3 marks for each correct answer. However, one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response in multiple-choice questions. It is important to note that there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers in non-multiple-choice questions.
