TN SSLC Result 2023: Overall pass percentage drops post-pandemic; improves by just 1.38 points
An increase of 1.38 points has been recorded this year when compared to TN 10th overall pass percentage last year. There is an overall drop post-pandemic.

NEW DELHI: Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu is set to declare the TN Class 10 result 2023 at 10 AM today, May 19, 2023. Candidates that appeared from April 6 to 20, 2023 will be able to check their results on the TN result official website- tnresults.nic.in. The pass percentage for the 2023 TN SSLC exams will be declared along with the results.

Students will be able to download their TN SSLC provisional marksheet from the official website and will later have to collect their original marksheets from their respective schools. This year both TN SSLC and HSE results see a slight improvement after a steady decline in the past few years. This year, the overall pass percentage of Tamil Nadu SSLC board exam results 2023 is 91.39% meanwhile the TN HSE plus one results sees 90.93% students pass exam.

As per an analysis of the past years' data, it has been observed that Tamil Nadu students saw a steady growth in the number of people passing the board exam from the years 2015 to 2019. However, after two years of pandemic, the overall pass percentage saw a huge drop of 5%. The pass percentage of TN SSLC exam 2022 was a lower than that of the 2015 exams.

It is also seen that the number of students appearing for the exams has also seen a drop. A little over 9 lakh students appeared for the exam last year while the board exams saw an attendance of over 9.3 lakh students every year.

As for students that failed to clear the exam this year, the DGE will be conducting the TN SSLC supplementary exam 2023. Students that have ailed in two or more exams can appear for this exam and improve their grades. Students will have to pay Rs 175 as supplementary examination application fee.
