TNEA 2020 registration commences; final date to apply is August 16
NEW DELHI: Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu has started the registration process for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2020. Eligible candidates can now apply for the undergraduate engineering admission process till August 16, 2020. Minister for Higher Education of Tamil Nadu, KP Anbalagan has stated that the government plans on completing the engineering admissions by October 15, 2020. To apply for TNEA 2020, the candidates can visit the official website at tneaonline.org.

Help centres for applicants?
While the application form is available in online mode, the state has also set up 52 help centres to help those applicants who have no access to internet facilities. Submission can also be done by these applicants at the village cooperative bank branches in their place of residence. According to KP Anbalagan, the previous year had seen 8000 out of the total 1 lakh applicants, seeking the help of these centres.
During last year, around 83,396 seats were filled during the TNEA counselling and the administration is expecting more admissions for this session. Till now, 465 engineering colleges have registered as participating institutes for TNEA 2020, however more institutes might join the admission process.
Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions or commonly known as TNEA is an admission process which is conducted annually to provide students B.Tech seats offered by the participating institutes. No entrance examination is conducted and allotment is done on the basis of 10+2 marks. Counselling is conducted by the authorities and the applicants are offered admissions as per their merit.
