TNEA Counselling 2018: fee payment starts; choice locking to start from July 25

NEW DELHI, JULY 23: Anna University has started the fee acceptance process for participation in TNEA 2018 counselling; there are total five counselling and seat allotment rounds. Candidates who have scored 190 marks or more are placed in Round I and need to make the payment from July 21-24 in online mode through TNEA Portal. After making the payment, the candidate has to next fill and lock choices for Round I between July 25 and 27. It must be noted that fee payment, choice filling and seat allotment schedule is different for each round. Payment for Round II starts on July 25.

The fee can also be paid through Demand Draft (DD). If paid through DD it should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions, Anna University”, payable at Chennai on or before August 1.

The fee for General category candidates is Rs. 5000, while Tamil Nadu SC/SCA/ST candidates need to pay only Rs. 1000.

The tentative seat allotment list for Round I will be announced on July 28, which will be followed by final allotment on July 30. Upon release of tentative list, the candidate may confirm the tentative allotment till July 29.

At the time of filling choices, the candidates must enter the choices in the order of priority. Also, it is recommended that the candidate enters as many choices as possible to enhance his or hers chances of getting admission.

The allotment of seats will be based on the merit of the candidates and also choices entered by them. If the candidate is happy with the allotted seat, he/she may accept the seat; or else the candidate may request for up-gradation.

Upon successful seat allotment, the candidates need to report at the allotted institute by August 3.
