TNGASA 2026: Tamil Nadu opens admissions for 25, 937 UG seats at 181 govt colleges

The Directorate of Collegiate Education, Tamil Nadu has announced the admission schedule for undergraduate (UG) programmes in Tamil Nadu Government Arts and Science (TN GASA 2026) colleges across the state. Eligible candidates can apply for various UG courses through the official website at tngasa.in.

The registration window for UG admissions at government arts and science colleges in Tamil Nadu for the academic year 2026-27 will be open until May 29.

According to an official statement, for the academic session 2026-27, around 181 government arts and science colleges in Tamil Nadu will offer 159 UG programmes with a total of 1,26,959 seats.

Tamil Nadu UG Admissions 2026: Application fee, seats

Shift 1 will have 1,01,022 seats, while shift 2 will include 25,937 seats. The directorate also stated that, as of now, it has received a total of 89, 927 applications.

“Students who are unable to apply online can use the Admission Facilitation Centres (AFCs) set up in all Government Arts and Science Colleges,” the official statement reads.

“Application fee is Rs. 48 per student, along with a registration fee of Rs. 2. SC and ST candidates are exempted from the application fee. Payments can be made through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI via the official website,” it added.

Candidates can also reach out to the directorate over any query by visiting the official website at tngasa.in. The directorate’s helpdesk is available from Monday to Friday between 10 am and 5 pm at 044-24343106 or 044-24342911.
