TNPSC Group 2 Prelims Result Announced; 14726 candidates qualify

Subscribe NowNEW DELHI, DECEMBER 17: As many as 14726 candidates have qualified the preliminary exam of TNPSC Group 2, the result of which has been announced on December 17, 2018. According to the official notification, approximately 11990 candidates (10 times the number of candidates) were to be selected for the mains examination. However, the examination authority has shortlisted 2376 more number of candidates for the mains examination besides what was announced earlier. The preliminary examination of TNPSC Group 2 was conducted on November 11, 2018.
TNPSC Group 2 result 2018 has been declared online at http://www.tnpsc.gov.in/ . The result displays the roll numbers of qualified candidates in PDF format.
Candidates who have qualified the preliminary examination as per TNPSC Group 2 result 2018 will be called for the mains exam which is scheduled to be conducted on February 23, 2019. To appear for the mains exam, candidates will have to pay the examination fees of Rs 150 and upload the scanned copies of the required documents. This facility will be available from December 24, 2018 to January 10, 2019.
According to the exam pattern, the mains written exam of TNPSC Group 2 will carry descriptive type questions. The test will consist of only one paper on General Studies. Candidates will be given 3 hours to answer the questions. Total marks allotted to the main written exam is 300. The question paper will be set in Tamil and English. The qualifying marks of mains exam is 102.
TNPSC is conducting Combined Civil Services Examination (Group 2) for recruitment to the post of Industrial Co-operative Officer, Probation Officer in Social Defence Department, Assistant Inspector of Labour in the Labour Department etc. As many as 1199 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment exam.
