UCEED 2020- IIT Bombay Announces result of Seat Allotment For First Round

NEW DELHI - Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Bombay announced the list of the selected candidates for the first round of admission to B.Des programmes in IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur on July 9 in online mode. Candidates are allotted seats based on the UCEED rank, category and choice of institutes. Selected candidates will receive provisional allotment letters on their registered email id from the UCEED officer. During the UCEED counselling and seat allotment session, candidates have to exercise either the ‘freeze’ or ‘float’ option. To confirm their admission, students have to pay the admission fee. IIT Bombay will announce the seat allotment for the second and third round on July 19 and 27 respectively.

UCEED 2020 Counselling and Seat Allotment Rules

• Candidates will have to choose either float or freeze option at the time of UCEED counselling and seat allotment

• Candidates have to pay the admission fee within the stipulated time if they accept the allotted seat. If they fail to pay the admission fee, then their application will be cancelled.

What does freeze and float option means?

Candidates have to choose freeze and float option during the counselling and seat allotment 2020.

Float - Candidates can accept the seat allotted to them at the time of UCEED counselling and seat allotment. In the remaining rounds, if candidates are offered admission to the Institute of their higher preference then they can take admission in that institute or continue in the accepted college. So candidates will be able to participate in the subsequent round only if they choose the float option.

Freeze - As per the freeze option, students can accept the allotted seat if they are satisfied with it and pay the fees to reserve their seats.
