NEW DELHI: The Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) is a qualifying exam for Bachelor of Design (BDes) admission at IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur. The UCEED exam is conducted once a year as a national level design entrance test. UCEED score is valid for a period of one year from the date of result declaration.

UCEED 2022 registration
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, the conducting body of UCEED will release the online registration form on September 9, 2022. Interested candidates can fill the UCEED 2022 application form online by visiting the official website - uceed.iitb.ac.in. UCEED application form 2022 can be filled till October 17.
Who can apply for UCEED 2022
Aspirants wishing to appear for the UCEED exam need to check and meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below
Candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam or equivalent in 2021 from any discipline such as Arts & Humanities, Science, and Commerce from a recognized board or university.
Candidates appearing for the 10+2 exam in 2022 can also apply for the UCEED exam.
General/ Open/ EWS/ OBC-NCL category candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1997, however, SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1992.
Candidates can appear for the UCEED exam two times in a consecutive year.
UCEED exam pattern and syllabus
According to the UCEED 2022 notification, the design entrance exam consists of two parts - Part A and Part B. UCEED part A will be conducted in online mode and contains three sections - numerical answer type question (NAT), multiple select question (MSQ) and multiple choice question (MCQ). UCEED Part A will contain topics from observation and design sensitivity, visualization and spatial ability, analytical and logical reasoning, environmental and social awareness, design thinking and problem solving and language and creativity.
UCEED part B will be held in pen and paper mode comprising one drawing question. Candidate's ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line, composition, quality, proportion, perspective and shading will be evaluated. Both part A and part B will be conducted on the day on January 23 from 9 am to 12 noon.
UCEED exam cities
According to the UCEED official notification 2022, the entrance exam will be held in 24 cities - Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulum, Panaji, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Visakhapatnam. Aspirants can choose three test centres of their choice while filling the application form.
BDes admission through UCEED: Seat matrix
The respective participating institutes of UCEED have not released the seat intake of BDes admission 2022 yet. However, candidates can refer to the previous year’s seat matrix till then to draw an idea.

Appearing for the UCEED exam or being in the rank list does not guarantee BDes admission in the participating institutes. UCEED qualified candidates must separately apply for admission to BDes programmes of the participating institutes. UCEED qualified candidates can apply for online admission for BDes candidates at UCEED participating institutes from March 14 to 31, 2022.
