NEW DELHI:
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all higher education institutions to purchase the book on Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), to disseminate the story of the five-year journey of the mission. The book titled “The Swachh Bharat Revolution” is a compendium of essays and its foreword has been written by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
UGC Secretary Rajnish Jain in his letter sent to all the Vice-Chancellors has stated that the method of implementation of the programme (SBM) needs to be shared widely, given its applicability across sectors.
“All Higher Educational Institutions and their affiliated colleges are kindly requested to consider obtaining and disseminating the book and to make available copies published by “Harper Collins India”, to students/staff,” the letter reads.
The book has been compiled by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, which is the journey of the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) in the last five years. It includes chapters penned by prominent individuals from various sectors on how their sector contributed to the roll-out of the Mission.
