UGC launches UTSAH portal to track, support, implement transformative reform in higher education

UGC has mandated universities and colleges to share all their initiatives and reforms related to NEP 2020 through the UTSAH portal.

NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched the Undertaking Transformative Strategies and Actions in Higher Education (UTSAH) portal to effectively track and support the implementation of various transformative reforms in higher education.

The portal has a user-friendly interface that facilitates the easy submission of initiatives, achievements and best practices adopted by universities and colleges to implement qualitative reforms in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

As per the UGC letter, the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, will host the second edition of Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam on July 29 and 30 which is also the third anniversary of NEP 2020. So, UGC has asked universities and colleges to share all initiatives and reforms with respect to NEP 2020 in UTSAH portal.

The UGC letter reads: "Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is planning to organise the second edition of Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam coinciding with the 3rd Anniversary of NEP 2020 on 29th & 30th July 2023 at India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The event is proposed to be inaugurated by Hon'ble Prime Minister. Accordingly, you are requested to motivate and ensure that all HEls in your state to share all the initiatives/reforms with respect to NEP 2020 in UTSAH Portal".

The UTSAH portal serves as a repository for regulations, guidelines and frameworks issued by the UGC, ensuring convenient access for all stakeholders.

Universities and colleges can access the UTSAH portal by logging in using their AISHE code. They are then required to provide information on various activities related to the identified thrust areas for reforms in higher education. Active participation in this initiative will enable universities and colleges to promote their initiatives at the national level, contributing to the overall advancement of higher education.
