NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) 2021 exam on November 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30 and December 1, 3, 4, 5, 2021. Before appearing in the UGC NET exam, aspirants are advised to check the UGC NET exam day guidelines, which need to be followed at the exam centre on the exam day so that candidates don't get involved in any unpleasant acts and don't attract any unwanted stress at the exam centre.

Aspirants who successfully downloaded their UGC NET admit card 2021 will be able to appear in the UGC NET exam.

UGC NET 2021 exam day guidelines

  • Along with the admit card, aspirants must mandatorily carry at least 2 government issued photo IDs. The photo ID can be anything like the Aadhaar card, voter card, PAN card, driving license or passport etc.

  • It is advised to the aspirants to carry the same photo ID which they used while filling the UGC NET application form 2021.

  • Candidates must reach the UGC NET exam centre at least 30-40 minutes before the reporting time.

  • By reaching early, they will avoid any last minute traffic congestion, road blocks. They will get enough time to relax and calm themselves before the paper starts.

  • The extra time will also help the exam centre officials in the smooth functioning of the security check at the UGC NET exam centre.

  • The UGC NET exam will be conducted in computer based online mode.

  • While getting seated inside the exam hall, aspirants must make mistakes while filling the attendance sheet.

  • Candidates must not involve in cheating or misbehaving with the exam centre invigilators. This act may lead to candidates debarment from the exam and might also attract legal action.

What to carry to the UGC NET exam centre and what not to carry?

  • Candidates must carry at least a couple of black/blue ball point pens and must also keep other stationaries like pencil, eraser, scale etc in case the need arises.

  • Avoid carrying mobile phones. If candidates have to somehow carry the mobile phone and bag, they will have to carry it at their own risk as most exam centres don't have a locker facility.

  • Electronic items like smart watches, camera or bluetooth devices and storage devices such as pen drive, flash drives, memory cards are not allowed inside the UGC NET exam hall.

  • Candidates must not wear or carry valuable/costly items like jewellery, watches etc.

UGC NET exam day guidelines for COVID-19

  • Wear a mask as well as use and throw hand gloves as the exam will be held in online mode, so candidates will have to touch the computer system.

  • Carry a personal hand sanitizer and a water bottle.

  • Maintain a safe distance.

  • Inform the exam centre officials in case there is any medical issue like cough, cold, fever.

The UGC NET exam will be conducted in two shifts, shift 1 will be for paper 1 which will be common for all the students, while shift 2 will be the optional subject. Candidates qualifying in the UGC NET exam will be eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor/Junior Research Fellow in Indian colleges and universities which are affiliated by UGC or any other organisation.
