UGC NET 2023 Result: NTA UGC NET results at ugcnet.nta.nic.in soon; latest updates

Soon, the NTA will release the UGC NET December 2022 result for the exams held in all five phases from February until March 2023. 

UGC NET result 2023 will be declared on the official website -- ugcnet.nta.nic.in. 

The NTA had conducted the UGC NET December 2022 exam from February 21 till March 16, 2023. The exam was held as a Computer-based test.

Once the NTA declares UGC NET result 2023, the registrations for UGC NET June 2023 cycle will begin at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. 

Close to 8 lakh candidates had taken the UGC NET December 2022 exam. The candidates are waiting for the results, which will be declared at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

As per various media reports, the UGC NET result 2023 is expected to be announced today on April 9, 2023 at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

In UGC NET 2023 exam, there are no negative marks for the incorrect responses marked.

For multi-shift papers, raw marks obtained by the candidates in different shifts/sessions will be converted to NTA Score (percentile).

According to NTA, the record of UGC NET December 2022 result will be preserved upto 90 days from the date of declaration of result. 

There shall be no re-evaluation/re-checking of result. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained, NTA said.

The aggregate percentage of the two paper scores corresponding to the number of JRF slots arrived at, shall determine the qualifying cut-off for JRF in a particular subject.

A total of  8,34,537 candidates appeared for UGC NET December 2022.

Under the JRF scholarship, the eligible candidates get Rs 31,000 for the first 2 years and then Rs 35,000 for the rest of the tenure.

The UGC NET Validity is 3 years for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) from the date of issuance of the UGC NET E-Certificate.

UGC NET is the examination for determining the eligibility for the post of assistant professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship award in Indian universities and colleges. The examination is conducted by NTA on behalf of University Grants Commission.

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in masters degree or equivalent examination from universities or institutions recognised by UGC in humanities (including languages) and social science, computer science and applications, electronic science etc. are eligible for this Test.

The NTA has recently released the UGC NET final answer key for the December 2022 session. The results are not declared yet. However, the testing agency will be soon announcing the NET results for the 83 subject papers on the official website. 

Candidates who have cleared the States Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for assistant professor held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from appearing in NET, and are eligible to apply for assistant professor anywhere in India.

NET, SET, SLET will remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of assistant professors in universities, colleges, and institutions. In this regard, exemption from NET, SET, SLET will be governed by UGC regulations. ) The candidates who have passed the UGC, CSIR, JRF examination prior to 1989 are also exempted from appearing in UGC NET exam.

As per the marking scheme, each question carries 2 marks. There is no negative marking for incorrect response. 

• No marks will be given for questions unanswered, unattempted, or marked for review. 
• To answer a question, the candidate needs to choose one option as the correct option. 
• If a question is found to be incorrect/ambiguous or has multiple correct answers, only those candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers would be given the credit. 
• If a question is found to be incorrect and the Question is dropped, then two marks (+2) will be awarded to only to those candidates who have attempted the question. The reason could be due to human error or technical error. 

Awarding of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Eligibility for Assistant Professorship depends on the aggregate performance of the candidate in UGC-NET paper-I and paper-II.
