UGC NET Admit Card 2025: The NTA is expected to issue NET hall tickets 2-3 days before the exam date on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will issue the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) admit card for the December 2025 session around two to four days before the exam date, as per previous years’ trends. The UGC NET admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the allotted centre for entry to the exam.
Around 6-8 lakh candidates register for the UGC NET exam conducted to determine the eligibility for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), recruitment as assistant professor, and admission to PhD programmes.
The NTA issued the UGC NET exam city intimation slip on December 20 for all registered candidates, indicating the city in which their exam centre will be located. The advance city slip is published to help candidates prepare for their travel on the exam date.
One of the candidates appearing for the UGC NET December 2025 exam wrote on X: “I got 3rd choice in UGC NET centre allotment that is 1000km from my current address. I am not able to travel. I have filled the options because we have to fill four centers. Please look into the matter.”
Allotment of far-off exam cities has been a persistent issue raised by candidates year after year. However, the NTA has given applicants the option to upload four cities of their choice based on the address provided in the application form.
“Effort will be made to allot a Centre of Examination to the candidates in order of the city choice opted by them in their Application Form. However, due to administrative reasons, a different city may also be allotted,” it clarified.

The NTA will conduct the UGC NET exam as a computer-based test (CBT) on December 31, January 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. The eligibility test will be held for 85 papers in different cities.
Candidates must note that the advance city slip and admit card are two different documents. The UGC NET hall ticket will have detailed information on personal details, roll number, exam centre, shift timings, subject applied for, venue address, and exam day guidelines.
“In case a candidate is unable to download the admit card from the website, he/she may approach the Help Line of NTA between 09:30 am to 5:30 pm or write to NTA at: https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/,” it said.
As per previous years’ trends, UGC NET admit card is expected to be issued between December 27 and December 29. Candidates will be able to download the NET hall ticket using their application number and password generated during the registration process.
