The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the advance city intimation slip for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026 re-examination scheduled for September 9 and 10. The re-examination will be conducted for candidates appearing in the English, Commerce and Sociology papers. Registered candidates can check and download their allotted city by logging in through the official UGC NET website.

Candidates must not confuse the city slip with the admit card, as it only provides advance information about the city where the examination centre will be located, allowing candidates to plan their travel. The admit card, having the exact details and address of the exam centre, will be issued separately.

The English paper will be held on September 9 from 9 am to 12 noon, while the Commerce paper will be conducted on the same day from 3 pm to 6 pm. The sociology paper will be held on September 10 from 9 am to 12 noon.

The re-examination was ordered after an expert committee formed by the testing agency examined complaints regarding errors in the three question papers, including factual, typographical, translation and language-related issues, as well as repetition of questions. Candidates appearing for the re-examination will not have to pay any additional examination fee. The results for the remaining 84 UGC NET June 2026 subjects have already been processed separately.
