UGC NET December 2024 result out at ugcnet.nta.ac.in; 1,14,445 qualify for PhD admissions, cut-off

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2024 result. Candidates can download the UGC NET December 2024 results by visiting the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in by using their registration number and date of birth. NTA has announced UGC NET 2024 results for all 85 subjects.

A total of 8,49,166 candidates registered for the exam, out of which 6,49,490 appeared. Among them, 5,158 candidates qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and assistant professor roles, while 48,161 candidates secured eligibility for assistant professor positions and PhD admissions. Additionally, 1,14,445 candidates qualified exclusively for PhD admissions.

As per NTA, the UGC NET results have been declared on the basis of final answer key. NTA further informed that a control room was set up at its premises, where virtual observers were deployed to monitor live CCTV footage from all examination centres across India. Around 35,000 cameras were installed for surveillance. To prevent cheating through mobile networks, jammers were placed at all centres, with approximately 40,000 jammers deployed across all shifts.

UGC NET December 2024 reservation policy

The UGC NET 2024 reservation policy is given below.

  • 15% for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates.
  • 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.
  • 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBC) Non-Creamy Layer (NCL)
  • 10% of the seats for General-Economically Weaker Sections (General- EWS) candidates
