UGC NET Registration 2024: A total of 9,45,918 candidates registered and 6,95,928 appeared for the UGC NET December 2023 session exam.
NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission (UGC) is expected to commence the registration process for National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 today, April 20. Interested candidates will be able to fill the UGC NET 2024 application form through the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

In a latest update, the UGC chairman posted on X: “UGC NET June 2024 registration to begin likely by tomorrow.” Candidates will be allowed to make corrections in the details of UGC NET application form 2024 after registration closes.
A total of 9,45,918 candidates registered and 6,95,928 appeared for the UGC NET December 2023 session exam. The UGC NET December 2023 exam was held between December 6 to December 14 and the result was declared on January 17.
UGC NET June 2024 application fees
Candidates must pay the application fees to successfully register for UGC NET June 2024. Candidates can check the UGC NET 2024 application fee for different categories in the table given below-

UGC NET 2024 for JRF, Assistant professor vacancies
UGC NET is a national-level exam conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor vacancies in Indian universities and colleges. The UGC NET 2024 exam will be held for a total of 83 subjects.
UGC NET 2024 educational qualifications, age limit
- Candidates should have secured at least 55 per cent marks in master’s degree. However a relaxation of five per cent is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories.
- Candidates should have completed their post-graduation from a UGC-recognised college/university in relevant streams.
- Candidates appearing in or awaiting results for their final year examination for a master’s degree are also eligible to apply online for the UGC NET exam. However, such candidates are considered eligible only when they pass their master’s exam with the required percentage.
- PhD degree holders whose master’s exams were completed on September 19, 1991 are eligible with only 50 per cent marks.
- The candidates should not be more than 30 years old to apply for UGC NET exam.
