NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the list of candidates who have qualified for the Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students (MANF), National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students (NFSC) and the National Fellowship for Other Backward Classes (NFOBC) for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) exam for the December 2020-June 2021 session. Candidates can check the UGC NET 2020-2021 fellowship list on the NTA and UGC websites -- nta.ac.in and ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

Details such as the roll number and application number of the UGC NET candidates are mentioned on NFSC and NFOBC fellowship lists. However, the UGC NET MANF fellowship list also mentions the minority religion of the candidates along with their roll number and application number. To be eligible to receive these fellowships, students are required to clear the UGC NET exam.

The MANF scheme was introduced by the government to provide fellowships of five-year duration to students from six notified minority communities such as Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Muslim, Parsi and Sikh to pursue MPhil and PhD. Students will receive financial assistance for their research purposes. NFSC scheme provides financial assistance to students belonging to the Scheduled Caste community to pursue MPhil and PhD in science, humanities and social science subjects. The NFOBC scheme is for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC) pursuing MPhil and PhD degrees in sciences, humanities, social sciences, and engineering and technology. Every year, about 300 eligible individuals are awarded the fellowship A 3 percent reservation is also given to research scholars for Persons with Disability (PwD) who belongs to the OBC category.

UGC NET Fellowship list: Steps to check

Candidates can follow the below-given steps to check the UGC NET 2020-21 fellowship list for MANF, NFSC and NFOBC fellowships.

  • Visit the NTA website or UGC NET 2022 website -- nta.ac.in and ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
  • Under the public notice section, click on the link that says "Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students", "National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students" or "National Fellowship for Other Backward Classes" as per choice.
  • The UGC NET fellowship list as per choice will appear on the screen.
  • Press Ctrl + F to open the search option and enter the roll number or application number of the candidate to quickly search in the list.
  • Download the PDF file for future reference.

NTA released the UGC NET exam date 2022 for the December 2021 and June 2022 sessions yesterday. UGC NET 2022 is scheduled to be held on July 8, 9, 11, 12 and August 12, 13, 14. NTA has not yet released the detailed UGC NET 2022 datasheet. However, the datasheet can be expected soon on the official websites.
