NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) result 2023 for the June session. Candidates who appeared for the UGC NET 2023 exam can check the result 2023 on the UGC NET result 2023 official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

NTA released the UGC NET 2023 provisional answer key on July 6. Candidates were allowed to raise objections against the provisional answer key by July 8 through the UGC NET result login window. The objections will be reviewed by subject experts and a final answer key will be released. NTA UGC NET result 2023 will be based on the final answer key.

According to the marking scheme of UGC NET 2023, candidates will be awarded two marks for each correct answer and zero marks for unanswered or un-attempted questions. There will be no negative marking for an incorrect answer.
UGC NET June 2023 phase 1 exam was conducted between June 13 and June 17 whereas phase 2 exam was held between June 19 and June 22. With the help of UGC NET scores, candidates will be recruited as assistant professors or they can apply for junior research fellowship (JRF) in colleges and universities across India.

Candidates who qualify for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) will receive the fellowship of UGC under various scheme provided they find placement in universities, Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), or other institutes. The validity period of JRF will be three year from the date of UGC NET result declaration. However, for those candidates who joined MPhil, PhD, the commencement of JRF fellowship date will be the UGC NET result date or joining date, whichever is later.

The NTA score for declaring the UGC NET results 2023 will be calculated corresponding to the raw marks obtained by a candidate. The calculated NTA score for the raw marks for all the shifts and sessions will be merged to declare the results. For example, the exam for a particular subject is held in two shifts, if the 40% marks correspond to a percentile score of 78 in shift 1 and 79 in shift 2, then all those equal to or above 78 percentiles in both shifts will become eligible in general category. Similar method will be adopted for the other categories to determine the UGC NET cut-off.

UGC NET June 2023 exam was conducted in two phases - phase 1 from June 13 to 17 and phase 2 from June 19 to 22. The NET exam was held for 83 subjects panning over 9 days in 18 shifts in 181 cities across the country.

The NTA conducted the UGC NET exam 2023 for eligibility for assistant professor as well as junior research fellowship and assistant professor. A total of 6,39,069 students registered for the NTA NET June exam 2023.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) published the UGC NET final answer key on July 6 and allowed candidates to raise objections till July 8. Based on the challenges raised by the candidates, the subject experts will review the claims and prepare the final answer key. The NTA is expected to release the UGC NET final answer key along with the results.
In the latest update, the UGC chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar said that the NTA will announce the UGC NET results 2023 by July 26 or 27. The UGC NET result link will be hosted at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
