Both CISER NET and UGC NET are national-level exams conducted for junior research fellowship (JRF) and to determine the eligibility of candidates as lecturer. UGC NET is held for PG students in streams such as social science, electronic science, computer science and applications, etc. with at least 55 percent aggregate. The candidates appearing for UGC NET should be below 30 years of age. The CSIR NET is for engineering, medicine, pharmacy, and sciences. Candidates must have scored a minimum of 55% The candidates should be below 28 years of age.

Candidates who qualify for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) will receive the fellowship of UGC under various scheme provided they find placement in universities, Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), or other institutes. The validity period of JRF will be three year from the date of UGC NET result declaration. However, for those candidates who joined MPhil, PhD, the commencement of JRF fellowship date will be the UGC NET result date or joining date, whichever is later.

The NTA score for declaring the UGC NET results 2023 will be calculated corresponding to the raw marks obtained by a candidate. The calculated NTA score for the raw marks for all the shifts and sessions will be merged to declare the results. For example, the exam for a particular subject is held in two shifts, if the 40% marks correspond to a percentile score of 78 in shift 1 and 79 in shift 2, then all those equal to or above 78 percentiles in both shifts will become eligible in general category. In order to be considered for ‘JRF and eligibility for assistant professor’ and for assistant professor, candidates should secure the minimum qualifying marks. 

• Aspirants belonging to the general, general-EWS categories should have appeared in both the papers and secured at least 40% aggregate marks 
• SC, ST, OBC (belonging to non-creamy layer), PwD and third gender candidates should secure at least 35% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together to qualify in the UGC NET results 2023.

The NTA conducted the UGC NET exam 2023 for eligibility for assistant professor as well as junior research fellowship and assistant professor. A total of 6,39,069 students registered for the NTA NET June exam 2023.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) published the UGC NET final answer key on July 6 and allowed candidates to raise objections till July 8. Based on the challenges raised by the candidates, the subject experts will review the claims and prepare the final answer key. The NTA is expected to release the UGC NET final answer key along with the results. 

In the latest update, the UGC chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar said that the NTA will announce the UGC NET results 2023 by July 26 or 27. The UGC NET result link will be hosted at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
