NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2024) exam schedule has been issued for a total of 83 subjects. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the UGC NET June 2024 exam in OMR-based mode. Candidates seeking Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), eligibility for assistant professor, and PhD admission 2024 can check the exam pattern, marking scheme and UGC NET syllabus.

The UGC NET exam 2024 will be held in a single day for all the subjects in two shifts - morning shift from 9.30 am to 12.30 noon and afternoon shift from 3 pm to 6 pm. The UGC NET OMR-based exam will be of the same format as of computer-based test (CBT) mode. The NTA will conduct the exam for three hours for paper 1 and paper 2, without any break.

Candidates who qualify the NTA NET exam will be eligible to apply for National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students (NFSC), National Fellowship for Other Backward Classes (NFOBC), and National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities (NFPwD) offered by the ministry of social justice and empowerment.

UGC NET syllabus 2024

The UGC NET syllabus for all papers and previous years’ subject-wise question papers has been hosted year-wise on the official website, ugcnetonline.in. Candidates will have to visit the portal and click on the desired tab to download the UGC NET syllabus and previous years’ question paper.

UGC NET OMR exam pattern

The medium of UGC NET question paper will be in English and Hindi only, except language papers. “In case of any ambiguity in translation/construction of a question in the exam, its English version shall be treated as final and the decision of NTA shall be final in this regard,” the NTA clarified.

How to attempt UGC NET OMR exam

Each UGC NET question paper 2024 will have four options and candidates will have to select one appropriate option. As per the marking scheme, two marks will be awarded to each correct answer and there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. Candidates should note that no marks will be allotted for unanswered questions.

In case a question is found to be incorrect or ambiguous or has multiple correct answers, only those candidates who have attempted the question will be given marks.
