NEW DELHI: The University of Sheffield is inviting applications for admission into its Master of Science (MSc) programme in cancer biology and therapeutics. The programme focuses on cancer biology, clinical oncology, and the latest advances in modern therapeutics including immunotherapy and precision medicine. The programme is scheduled to start in September 2025.
As per the institute, students will engage in a six-month full-time research project designed to prepare them for further studies or careers in healthcare and the pharmaceutical sector. The programme covers cancer research and its application in clinical treatments.
It includes the cellular and molecular biology of cancer, tumour microenvironment, epidemiology, and therapeutic approaches. Students will also learn laboratory and clinical research methods and can choose between a bioinformatics course for handling complex biological data or a Home Office licence course to understand in vivo experiments and regulations.
“The biggest part of the degree will be the six-month research project, where students will join one of the research teams to apply their knowledge, gain practical skills and build confidence within a research environment,” the official press release read.

Candidates can check the eligibility criteria to get admission into its MSc programme in cancer biology and therapeutics.
Candidates must hold a three- or four-year bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognised university in a relevant subject.
Accepted degree subjects include biochemistry, biology, genetics, medicine, molecular biology, and veterinary science.
Candidates should have scored an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) band of 7, with a minimum of 6.5 in each component, or possess its university equivalent.
According to the official press release, the University of Sheffield offers 75 International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarships for 2025 entry. Each scholarship will provide 10,000 pounds towards tuition fees for postgraduate programmes that will be taught starting in September 2025.
The scholarships are available to all new international students who meet the eligibility criteria. The application deadline is 1 pm (UK time) on Monday, May 12, 2025.
