UP Board asks 33 districts to ensure 100% online attendance in schools

Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has directed district education authorities in 33 districts to ensure 100% daily online attendance of students, teachers and non-teaching staff in government, government-aided and self-financed secondary schools within six days.

According to a notice issued by the Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh, the directions were issued after the Board found that schools in 33 districts had recorded online attendance in 10% or fewer schools.

The Board said recording 100% daily online attendance through the web portal or mobile application is mandatory in government, government-aided and self-financed secondary schools in the state.

District-wise data

Bhadohi reported the lowest level of compliance among the districts listed, with none of its 196 schools recording online attendance. Unnao followed, with online attendance submitted by only two of its 417 schools, accounting for 0.48%.

Other districts with attendance recorded in less than 2% of schools included Mirzapur (0.97%), Farrukhabad (1.06%), Saharanpur (1.14%), Gonda (1.36%), Prayagraj (1.53%) and Chitrakoot (1.69%).

The Board termed the low online attendance figures an indication of non-compliance with its directions and lax supervision. It said semi-official letters had been issued to the concerned District Inspectors of Schools.

The district inspectors have been instructed to ensure that 100% online attendance of students, teachers and non-teaching employees in all government, government-aided and self-financed schools is recorded within six days.
