NEW DELHI: The UP Board Class 10, 12 board exams 2022 begin yesterday, March 24, after a delay caused due to the UP by-elections. Shockingly, on the first day over 4 lakh students skipped the exam. The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) conducted UP Board Hindi paper for both Class 10, 12.
This is one of the highest number of examinees dropping out on the first day of UP Board exam. Of the total 51.9 lakh students who registered this year, 4.18 lakh students were marked absent, as per reports. Out of this, 2.6 lakh were of Class 10 and 1.57 lakh of Class 12.

According to the report, the reason for high dropouts among Class 10, 12 students maybe because of the strict security measures taken by the state government.
All the exam centres will be monitored closely with help of staff and a total of 2,97,124 CCTV cameras.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that the students have skipped the exams. In 2018, the state created a record when 11 lakh students left the exam hall after the UP government strict measures to prevent cheating, the TOI reported.
The board will set up a total of 8,873 examination centers for the exams across the state. Of these 6,398 centres are in rural areas and 1,975 are located in the urban areas. The state government has declared 861 exam centres 'sensitive' and 254 as 'very sensitive', while 7,258 as have been declared as general.

The UP Board Class 10 and 12 exam 2022 is being held in two shifts. Morning shift will be held between 8 am and 11:15 am while the timings of the evening shift will be from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.
As per UPMSP time table 2022, Class 10 exam will conclude with Maths paper on April 12, while UPMSP Class 12 exams will end with vocational subjects and political science.
