UP Board warns about agents offering promotion for money

NEW DELHI: In Uttar Pradesh, individuals pretending to be officials of the UP Madhyamik Shiskha Parishad have been offering to promote students in exchange for money.

The Parishad, or the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh, issued a statement on Tuesday, April 21, saying that these agents introduced themselves as employees of the board, contacted the parents and students over phone to deposit certain amounts at designated bank accounts.

Neena Srivastava, the board’s secretary said in a statement: “We are concerned about the whole thing of bribery and investigation is on and anyone found guilty will definitely be punished.”

The notice mentions that due to the ongoing lockdown induced to control the global COVID-19 pandemic, all the offices and institutions affiliated to the board are closed and therefore these agents asking bribes cannot be any of the employees.

“The telephone numbers, bank account details associated are to be reported to the Inspector of Schools and police administration.” Srivastava added.
