UP NEET UG Counselling 2024 guidelines out; registration fee, domicile, reservation details

NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Uttar Pradesh has issued guidelines and fee details for UP NEET UG counselling 2024. On the basis of the merit list of National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG 2024), admission for 85% of the state quota available in the government medical colleges and 100% MBBS, BDS seats in private medical colleges will be carried out.

The UP NEET counselling dates 2024 have not been announced yet. However, aspirants can expect the complete schedule soon on the official website, dgmeup.gov.in and upneet.gov.in.
Only the candidates who have been declared successful in the NEET exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) are eligible to participate in the UP NEET UG 2024 counseling process for MBBS, BDS admissions. It also advised candidates desirous of taking admission in private medical colleges in the state to gather the complete information of the concerned institution before filling choices.
“Online UP NEET UG counselling 2024 will be conducted by the Director General, Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh in collaboration with the National Informatics Center (NIC), a technical institution nominated by the Uttar Pradesh Government,” it said.

Candidates who wish to participate in the state NEET counselling process will have to register at upneet.gov.in by paying the prescribed registration fee.

UP NEET Counselling 2024: Domicile
For admission in government medical, dental colleges of the state, it is necessary for the candidate to be a native of Uttar Pradesh. Domicile or residence certificate will not be necessary for those candidates who have passed both high school and intermediate examinations from Uttar Pradesh.
Domicile or residence certificate should be submitted by candidates who have passed one or both of the high school and intermediate examinations from outside the state and are natives of Uttar Pradesh.
Residents of other states of India, including Uttar Pradesh, will also be eligible for admission in private institutes in the state.

Reservation
Candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will have to submit caste certificates in the prescribed format. They are required to submit the caste certificate issued on or after April 1, 2024.
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category are advised to get the reservation related certificate issued by the Uttar Pradesh government on the updated format, so that online verification of the certificate can be done conveniently.
Candidates belonging to reserved category of states other than Uttar Pradesh will be considered in unreserved category. The benefit of reservation will not be admissible to such candidates.
