NEW DELHI: Ten days after the board uploaded UP Police constable final answer key 2024, candidates are still awaiting results. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) is expected to declare the UP police constable result 2024 this week on the official website, uppbpb.gov.in, as per reports.
The UP Constable direct recruitment 2023 exam, held on February 17 and 18, was cancelled after allegations of paper leak. Later, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath instructed the board to hold the re-exam in the next 6 months. Following the order, the UP Police Constable re-exam was held on August 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31.
Although the final answer key was published on November 2, the final selection list is not yet out. Frustrated by the delay, candidates have also taken to social media platforms requesting for a clarity on UP Police constable result date 2024.
The written examination was held in pen-and-paper (OMR) based mode. The objective-type examination had a total of 150 questions carrying 300 marks. Candidates were given 2 hours to attempt the questions. As per the marking scheme, 2 marks are awarded for each correct answer and for every wrong answer, 0.5 marks will be deducted.
The direct recruitment exam was held for a total of 60,000 UP constable vacancies. Around 48 lakh candidates registered for the exam, which was held in two phases. Due to the large number of candidates, the board conducted the exam in two phases.
The results will be declared using a normalisation method given below to prepare the merit list. In case of wrong answers or all options of a question are found to be wrong, the board will decide the distribution of marks for the cancelled question based on the Allahabad High Court order, “No. 2669/2009 (M/B) Pawan Kumar Agrahari vs Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission”.
