UP RTE school admission for more than six lakh seats starts today; admissions till March 27: Reports

NEW DELHI : Schools in Uttar Pradesh have started the online admission process for more than six lakh seats in private schools under the Right to Education Act (RTE) from today, December 1. Students from underprivileged backgrounds will be admitted to Class 1 and pre-primary classes in 52,829 private schools.
“The online process for admission to 6.03 lakh seats in private schools under the Right to Education Act will begin from today. The admission process will continue in four phases till March 27,” Government of UP posted on X (formerly Twitter)
As per Jagran's report, in UP private schools, about 78,065 seats have increased in the academic session 2025-26 for admission of children from poor families. Moreover, a help desk has been set up by authorities to assist parents with admissions.

UP school admissions in four phases
As per the deputy director of education (Samagra Shiksha) Mukesh Kumar Singh, admissions for the first phase will begin today and online applications can be filled out till December 19. The Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) will start admission form verification from December 20 to 23. The lottery results will be announced on December 24 and students will be able to take admissions to their allotted schools till December 27.
For the second phase of admissions, online application form filling will begin on January 1 and continue till January 19, 2025. The lottery results of the admission will be announced on January 24 and the admissions will be allotted to students till January 27.
During the third phase of admission, online applications can be filled out from February 1 to 19. BSA will verify online applications from February 20 to 23. The results for the third phase will be announced on February 24 and admissions to the schools will be granted till February 27.
The last phase of online application will begin on March 1 and continue till March 19. BSA will verify applications from March 20 to 23 and lottery results will be available till March 24, 2025.
“All District Basic Education Officers are directed to ensure that the admission process for class 1/pre-primary class under Section 12(1)(c) of the Right to Education Act is completed within the stipulated time period,” the official note adds.
