UP school summer vacation 2023 further extended till July 2

Uttar Pradesh schools were scheduled to reopen on June 27 earlier. Classes will start functioning from July 3 as per the initial schedule.

NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh government has further extended the UP school summer vacation 2023 till July 2. Earlier, the schools were scheduled to reopen on June 27. The basic education department issued a notification on the extension of the summer vacation.

“In the order of approval received from the Director of Education Basic, the summer vacation is extended till July 2 in the schools run under the control of the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council or recognized schools,” the education department said.

“Summer vacation has been extended till 02 July 2023 in all schools of Basic Education Council, UP. Now the schools will open on 03 July 2023,” the basic education department tweeted.

Initially, the department announced summer vacations of 27 days from May 20, 2023 to June 15, 2023 in all UP schools. The summer vacation was extended to June 26 in view of heat wave.

“As per the approval received from the Director of Education Basic, the summer vacation period from May 20 to June 15 is extended till June 26 in council schools/recognized basic schools run under the control of Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council. Summer vacation period will be from 20th May to 26th June,” the education department had said in the official notification.

“Please make sure to complete all the formalities at your level before opening the school, in which teaching and other activities of schools, especially mid-day meal, proper distribution of textbooks and work related to dbt and other works are conducted systematically and smoothly,” the basic education department further said.
