UP schools will remain open this Sunday for the implementation the 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' and Har Ghar Triranga programmes.

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh Department of Basic Education today announced that all government schools will be functioning on this Sunday, August 13, to celebrate the closing ceremony of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Yojana'.
Special mid-day meals will be arranged for UP school students for the implementation the 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' and Har Ghar Triranga programmes, the department said.
According to the circular issued by the UP government, all basic and secondary schools are directed to conduct poetry recitation competitions on August 13. The Basic Education Department has issued instructions to organise date-wise programmes to the districts.
“In the event of Sunday being a public holiday on August 13, 2023, on the occasion of the "Meri Mati Mera Desh" programme of independence, special mid-day meals should be arranged among the students present at the school,” the order read.
