UPBEB postponed UPTET 2019 exam of December 22

NEW DELHI,DECEMBER 20: Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) has released a notice regarding the postponement of UPTET 2019 exam on December 20. As per the notice exam was slated to be held on December 22, 2019 but due to some unforeseen reasons exam is postponed and new dates for exam will be intimated in due course of time. A total of 16 lakh 58 thousands candidates were supposed to appear in UPTET exam. Authorities have allotted 1986 exam centers in Uttar Pradesh state for commencement of exam. Earlier exam conducting authorities have released the admit card of UPTET on December 12, 2019.
Reason of Postponement of UPTET Exam
Though authorities have not officially mentioned the reason for postponement, it is likely due to the ongoing protests against Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019. Many cities of states have seen violence and internet services have also been halted. On December 21, the state administration shut down all schools and colleges.
Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a state level exam conducted for the recruitment of primary (classes I-V) and upper primary (classes VI-VIII) level teachers in the schools of Uttar Pradesh (UP).
