NEW DELHI - Fake news if not busted can create havoc, the same situation happened recently when news related to UPSC made rounds over the internet. The news piece confirmed that UPSC has reduced the upper IAS age limit for CSE from 32 years to 26 years.
What created a more chaos like situation was that this rule was only for General category candidates. There was one more story adjacent to the same story which said, "UPSC is looking for young candidates for its Civil Services."
Candidates preparing for CSE, went into a frenzy situation as they didn't know how to react. However, there was no such official notice, tweet or any concrete evidence from the side of UPSC, nor on its website neither on any of the official twitter handles.
That's when PIB (Press Information Bureau) Fact Check wing came into action and busted the fake news. PIB Fact Check also tweeted the same from their dedicated Fact Check twitter handle and gave a clarification. You can see the tweet here
