UPSC CSE prelims 2024 registration last date extended till tomorrow following aspirants’ demands

NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has extended the last date to register for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) prelims 2024 till tomorrow, March 6. The commission’s notification came after candidates alleged the crash of the UPSC website and demanded an extension of the application submission deadline.
“The last date for submission for CS(P)-IFoS(P)-2024 has been extended till 06-03-2024 (06:00 PM),” reads UPSC website.
The UPSC CSE prelims 2024 aspirants were angry and disappointed over the crashing of UPSC website, upsconline.nic.in. Students alleged that the One-Time Registration (OTR) link was not responding since afternoon. Today, March 5, was the last date to apply for UPSC CSE 2024 preliminary examination, as per the official schedule. Anxious candidates took their agony to social media and demanded the commission to extend the last date to register.
“So guys. It's official!! The dates are extended by one day. No need to worry about!! Kudos to everyone for their unity,” said a candidate on X (formerly Twitter).
UPSC Prelims 2024 trend
Minutes before the extension of UPSC CSE registration deadline, UPSC Prelims 2024 was trending on X. Students called the extension a result of their campaign.
An aspirant had said in a post, “I wish to bring to your kind notice that the payment of Rs 100 has already been completed. Just after the completion, the site did not respond smoothly. Therefore, on behalf of all aspirants, we request to kindly extend the dates by a day or two.”
“I've been trying since last night. Whenever close to final submission this happens It seems like all gone...!!,” wrote another aspirant.
Another candidate shared, “been trying for last 2 hours. And this is supposed to be the most premier examination of our country deciding the future of our country. We demand an explanation.”
“Upsc official site is working ,we are not able to fill the form. Please resolve this issue, we are serious candidates for upsc,” a student said in a post.
