UPSC declares Civil Services mains exam result 2018 on Dec 20; around 2000 candidates qualify for personality test

NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 20: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the result of mains examination on December 20. To check the mains result candidates need to visit the official website of UPSC on http://www.upsc.gov.in/. The result is available in pdf format with the roll numbers qualified candidates. On the basis of UPSC Civil services result 2018 for mains exam, a total of 1994 candidates have qualified for personality test.

UPSC mains exam was conducted from September 28 to October 7, 2018. There were nine papers in the mains exam out of which Paper A (Indian Languages) and Paper B (English) were qualifying in nature. The qualifying marks in Paper A and B was 25 % as per notification. The shortlisting of candidates for the Personality Test was on the scores obtained by candidates in Paper 1 to 7. Candidates had to obtain minimum qualifying marks in each of the 7 papers they have appeared. UPSC Civil services mains exam was conducted for 1750 marks.

The personality test of UPSC Civil Services exam will be held from February 4, 2019. The e-call letter for the Interview can be downloaded from January 8, 2019. Candidates will have to carry original certificates in support of their claims pertaining to age, educational qualifications, community, physical handicap and other documents. The personality test will be conducted for 275 marks.

For the shortlisted candidates in the personality test, UPSC will release the final result. The final result will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in mains exam and personality test. On the basis of final result, candidates will be selected  for appointment to Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and
Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.
