NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the notification for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) exam 2025. The commission has also opened the registration window for the UPSC IFS 2025. Eligible candidates can apply for the UPSC IFS 2025 exam through the official website, upsc.gov.in.
The last date to register for the UPSC IFS exam 2025 is February 11, 2025. The commission has also issued the notification for the UPSC Civil Service Examination (UPSC CSE 2025). The registration deadline for the UPSC CSE exam is also February 11, 2025.
“Candidates desirous of applying for Indian Forest Service examination as well as for Civil Services examination can apply through a common online application form subject to meeting the requisite eligibility criteria by them,” the official notification read.
To apply for the UPSC IFS 2025 exam, candidates will first have to register themselves at the One Time Registration (OTR) platform, available on the Commission’s website, and then proceed to fill up the online application for the examination.
Candidates who want to make any change in their OTR profile shall be allowed only once in their lifetime after registration at the OTR platform. The profile modification window will be open for seven days till February 18, 2025.
Candidates will have to pay the application fee of Rs 100 to register for the exam. Candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories, and all female candidates are exempt from paying the application fee.
The UPSC recruitment drive aims to fill around 150 vacancies for IFS posts. “The number of vacancies is liable to alteration. Reservations will be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Section and Person with Benchmark Disability Categories in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government,” the commission said.

The candidate must be a citizen of India
The candidates’ age must be 21 years old and must not be 32 years old on August 1, 2025. Candidate must have been born not earlier than August 2, 1993, and not later than August 1, 2004.
Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or Engineering of any of the Universities or possess an equivalent qualification.
UPSC IFS 2025 exam will be conducted in two stages. The civil services preliminary exam and IFS mains exam (written and interview). The commission has also issued the UPSC IFS Main 2024 exam detail application form (DAF 2). Candidates who appeared for the recruitment examination can fill out the UPSC IFS Mains DAF 2024 through the official website.
