In July last year, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved 14 engineering colleges across eight states in the country to offer select BTech programmes in regional languages including Hindi in the new academic year. As a part of this decision, 226 authors reviewed and translated 218 engineering books for first-year students of undergraduate and Diploma programmes.

Later in October, three of the Government technical institutes in Haryana were also granted permission by AICTE to start their select BTech programmes in Hindi from academic year 2021-22.
