VITREE 2024 registration closes today; eligibility, exam pattern

NEW DELHI: Vellore Institute of Technology Research Entrance Examination (VITREE 2024) registration will be closed today, April 28. Interested and eligible candidates can fill the VITREE 2024 registration form by visiting the official website, admissions.vit.ac.in.
VITREE is conducted for admission to various PhD, Direct PhD programmes in VIT group of Institutions. VITREE 2024 exam will be held on May 5 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at around 59 exam cities. VIT will conduct a personal interview round for students who pass the entrance exam on May 18 and 19. According to the official schedule, the institute will announce the VITREE results 2024 on May 29.
VITREE 2024 eligibility criteria
Candidates can have a look at the VITREE 2024 eligibility criteria below.
PhD: Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in engineering or technology in the relevant field with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale. Alternatively, qualifications like MSc (Engineering), MS, or MTech are accepted.
Direct PhD: Candidates need to have a strong academic background in their Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject area. A minimum of 75% marks or a CGPA of 7.5 on a 10-point scale is required.
PhD in architecture and planning: Aspiring candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Planning and a master’s degree in architecture, design, planning, building engineering and management, or equivalent, from a full-time or regular education program. They should have secured at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale throughout their academic tenure, where applicable.

VITREE 2024: Exam pattern
The VITREE 2024 exam will be held online in computer-based mode. The medium of the VITREE 2024 exam is English. The duration of the paper is 2 hours. There will be a total of 100 multiple-choice questions. For the VITREE 2024 PhD paper, there will be a total of 3 sections-Technical, English communication skills, and statistics and probability. On the other hand VITREE 2024 direct PhD there will be only two sections-Technical andEnglish communication skills. Candidates will get 1 mark for each correct answer and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
