WB SET 2018 exam begins; know more details here

NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 2: West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) has begun WB SET 2018 exam in offline mode today, December 2. The exam is being conducted for the post of Assistant Professors across 22 districts of West Bengal in two shifts. Paper I is being conducted from 8:00 am to 10:30 am whereas paper II is being conducted from 10:45 am to 1:00 pm.
Candidates had to carry a copy of the admit card along with one valid ID proof - Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, and voter ID card to the exam centre. The admit card and ID proof of candidates have to bear the same name as that on the admit card of WB SET 2018.
In case of any discrepancy in the admit card, candidates can get it corrected on the day of exam. At the exam centre of WB SET, candidates can get their admit card rectified by the Officer-in-charge of the exam centre after the verification of the attendance sheet and photo identity proof.
Without the following documents candidates are not being allowed to appear for the exam.The admit card of WB SET was issued online on November 5 and could be downloaded till the date of examination.
WB SET comprises of two papers – paper I and paper II. Both the papers are compulsory and are being held separately in 2 sessions. Paper 1 is general in nature, intended to assess the teaching and research aptitude of the candidate. In paper II, questions are being asked from the subject which the candidates have opted for. Candidates are required to complete both the papers within three hours.
After the exam, West Bengal College Service Commission will release WB SET answer key for both the papers - paper I and II. The result of WB SET 2018 is expected to be declared in the second week of January in online mode. As per WBCSC, top 6% of the candidates taking the test (in both papers) and securing minimum 40% aggregate marks (General Category) and minimum 35% marks (SC/ST/PWD/Transgenders) will be considered qualified in the exam.
WB SET is conducted for offering eligibility certificates to candidates so that they can be recruited as Assistant Professors across the institutes/colleges and universities of West Bengal.
