NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has declared the WBBSE Madhyamik result 2024 today, May 2 at 9 am. Students who appeared for WB Class 10th exams will be able to access and download their results by visiting the official website, wbbse.wb.gov.in. West Bengal Madhyamik result 2024 Live
Students will need their roll number and date of birth to download the WB Madhyamik result 2024. A total of 9,23,045 students took the WB Class 10th exams 2024. The WBBSE Madhyamik exams were held on pen and paper from February 2 to February 12.
WBBSE Madhyamik Result 2024: Pass percentage increases by 0.16%
The WBBSE Madhyamik 2024 pass percentage stands at 86.31%. In total, 9,12,598 students appeared in the WB Madhyamik 2024 examination, comprising 4,03,900 boys and 5,08,698 girls. Among them, 7,64,252 students successfully passed the WB Madhyamik 2024 exams.
In the WB Class 10th exam 2023, there were 6,98,628 candidates who registered, out of which 6,82,321 appeared. Among them, 5,65,428 students passed, resulting in an overall pass rate of 86.15 percent
WB Madhyamik 2024 pass percentage improved for all categories
As per the official WB Madhyamik 2024 result statistics, the pass percentage improved for all categories this year. The WB Class 10th 2024 pass percentage for children with special needs (CWSN) stood at 86.90%, for Scheduled Caste (SC) it is 80.61%, and the passing rate for Scheduled Tribes (ST) stands at 68.83%. Last year, the pass percentage for the General Category stood at 86.15, while it was 82.88 per cent in the SC category and 76.03 per cent in the ST category.
WBBSE Madhyamik Result 2024: Top performing district
As per WBBSE Madhyamik 10th result 2024 statistics, Kalimpong is the top performing district with 96.2%, followed by East Midnapore with 95.4% and Kolkata: 91.6%.
In WB Madhyamik 10th 2023 as well, these three were in the top performing district list. Last year, East Midnapore district achieved the top rank with 96.81% pass percentage, followed by Kalimpong (94.13%) and Kolkata (93.75%).
WB Madhyamik Result 2024: 18 students secure top 10 ranks
In total, 18 students secured top 10 ranks in WB Class 10th result 2024. A total of 1,18,411 students were placed in the first division, representing 12.98% of the total number of students.
A total of 118 students from 16 districts secured ranks last year. As per the WB Class 10th result 2023 data, 13.67% of students scored above 60%.
WB Madhyamik Topper 2024: Chandrachur Sen tops with 99%
Chandrachur Sen emerged as the WB Class 10th topper 2024, securing 693 marks or 99 percent. Samyapriya Guru secured the second position with 692 marks or 98.86%. The third position is shared by Udayan Prasad, Pushpita Basuri, and Nairit Ranjan Pal, each scoring 691 marks or 98.71%.
In the WB Madhyamik 2023, one student secured first place, two students tied for second spot, and six candidates grabbed third rank. Devadutta Majhi clinched the top rank with a score of 99.57 percent, or 697 marks. Subham Pal and Rifat Hassan Sarkar secured the second with 98.71 percent, or 691 marks each.
