WBJEE 2024 exam today; admit card, paper pattern

NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) will conduct the WBJEE 2024 exam today, April 28, 2024. Candidates who apply for the WBJEE 2024 exam can download the admit card through the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in.

The WBJEE 2024 exam will have two papers. Paper 1 will be held for mathematics from 11 am to 1 pm and paper 2 will be conducted for physics and chemistry subjects from 2 pm to 4 pm. Candidates will have to use their login credentials such as registration number and password to download WBJEE 2024 admit card.

WBJEE 2024: Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the WBJEE 2024, applicants must be a minimum of 17 years old by December 31, 2024. There is no maximum age limit, except for the marine engineering programme, where candidates must not exceed 25 years of age by December 31, 2024.

Candidates for WBJEE 2024 must have completed Class 12 as regular students from a recognised board. They should have studied physics and chemistry along with mathematics, biology, computer science, biotechnology or computer application. A minimum aggregate of 45% marks in these three subjects is required for eligibility.

Students from scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), other backward classes (OBC), and persons with disabilities (PwD) categories will receive a 5% relaxation in the aggregate marks of the qualifying examination.

The board administers the WBJEE for admission to engineering, technology, pharmacy, and architecture programs offered by various universities and colleges in the state.

WBJEE 2024 exam pattern, marking scheme

In the WBJEE 2024, there will be 155 questions divided into three subjects including mathematics, physics, chemistry. Physics, chemistry subjects will have 40 questions while mathematics questions carry 75 questions. Students will receive two marks for each correct answer.

In Category 1, there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect response, while in Category 2, 0.5 marks will be deducted. There will be no negative marking in Category 3. The WBJEE 2024 exam carries 200 marks in total. Category-wise distribution of questions is given in the table below.
