WBJEE 2024: First round of defence quota counselling on August 29; 50 candidates invited

NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has announced the counselling dates for candidates listed under the defence quota for admission into four-year degree-level engineering and technology courses. As per the official notice, the WBJEE counselling 2024 for defence quota will take place on August 29 at 12:30 pm.
The WBJEE counselling process will be held at the WBJEE Board office, located at Rupanna DB-118, Sector-I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata. The board has announced that 13 seats are reserved under the defence quota. Of these, 11 seats are distributed across different branches in government engineering and technology colleges, while 2 seats are allocated to Jadavpur University.
The board has issued a list of 116 candidates shortlisted by the Rajya Sainik Board, Home Department, Government of West Bengal. Out of these, 50 candidates have been invited to participate in the first round of counselling. Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of their General Merit Ranks (GMRs).
The board informed that domicile criteria are not mandatory for benefiting from the reservation of defence quota seats in government engineering and technology colleges, as well as in Jadavpur University.
“In case of Jadavpur University, the Stream, Branch is not earmarked' The final allotment of stream, branch will be decided by the Jadavpur University authority,” the official notice read.

WBJEE Defence Quota Counselling 2024: Documents required
Candidates are required to bring the following documents on the day of counselling:

WBJEE-2024 rank card (soft and hard copy both)

Original proof of date of birth and a photocopy

Original mark sheet of Class 10, 12 along with a photocopy

One recent passport-sized coloured photograph
-
Seat allotment letter for WBJEE-2024 centralized e-counselling (if applicable)
If seats remain vacant after the first round of counselling, candidates who attended the first round but did not receive or accept a seat, as well as other candidates from the published list, will be eligible for subsequent rounds of counselling. Once a candidate has accepted a seat in any round, they will not be permitted to participate in any further rounds of counselling.
