West Bengal Board Madhyamik question paper leak; Board files complaint

NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 13: The Bengali question paper of West Bengal Madhyamik exam, has been leaked on the first day of the exam in Malda. The exam started on February 12 and the first paper was Bengali. The question paper went viral on social media. After a senior official board member received an image of the question paper on his WhatsApp number, the Board filed a police complaint.

According to the WBBSE exam guidelines, the question papers are distributed to the candidates at 11.45 am, around 15 minutes before the exam begins. The exam ends at 3 pm. The question paper is said to have been leaked a few minutes after the beginning of the paper.

As per the media reports, the Board officials denied the leakage, saying that the images of the question paper were taken and circulated on Whatsapp after the exam began. Candidates, by that time, were already inside the examination hall writing their paper. So, there was no reason to hold back the exam. However, after the senior official reported this matter to the board, they lodged police complaint to find out the culprits who have created such vandalism.

Avishek Chakraborty, OC examination, Ratua was quoted speaking to the Indian Express, that till now he has not received any reports of such incident. He further added that they will verify the report and actions will be taken if it is proved.
