NEW DELHI: West Bengal Board of Secondary Education will start the Madhyamik exam from tomorrow, February 18, 2020. The last date of board exams is February 27, 2020. A total of 10.15 lakh students are appearing for the board exams including 5,76,009 girls, which is equal to the 56.70% of total.

“The board exams will be held at 2839 centers across the state of West Bengal.” said President of WBBSE, Kalyanmoy Ganguly in a press conference.

He further added "The number of female students taking the examination has been on the rise for the past few years. This year's 56.70 percent is the highest in recent times.”

The board is also planning to cut down the internet connection in the areas around some schools. However, no final decision has been taken regarding the same.

Mr. Ganguly also added that "Teachers will not be allowed to take smartwatches inside the examination centers from this year. In fact, from smartwatches to mobile phones, no electronic gadget will be allowed inside the centers either by teachers or students,"

Besides, the West Bengal Pollution Control Board has also banned loudspeakers 03 days before the start of board exams. The ban will continue till March 27, 2020.
