NEW DELHI: The education studies paper of the West Bengal Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) exam was allegedly leaked on Monday, November 28 following which the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) ordered a probe, as per various reports. The question paper of the educational studies subject was allegedly shared on social media an hour before the exam.

The board is conducting DElEd part 2 exam for the 2020-22 session from November 28 to November 30 from 12 noon to 3 pm. While the first paper was conducted for educational studies subject, and second and third paper will be conducted for contemporary studies and pedagogy across curriculum, respectively.

The board president, Gautam Pal reportedly termed the paper leak as “betrayal” and a move to ruin the image of the government. The president also said that a committee will be formed to further investigate the matter. Addressing a press conference immediately after reports of paper leak, the president said that the students had already entered the exam hall when the paper was leaked.

According to reports, the photocopy of the question paper was shared on social media around 10:45 am. Several students claimed that the paper was same as the one shared online.

The president further said that while the exams went smooth according to the report by the centre-in-charge, the board will take action after the findings of the committee to be formed.

The first paper of the DElEd exam was conducted at 160 exam centres across the state. The board invited applications for the exam on November 1, 2022. Candidates were able to apply till November 7, 2022.
