West Bengal JECA, JELET 2020 cancelled due to COVID pandemic; check new selection criteria

NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has announced the cancellation of Joint entrance for lateral entry in B.Tech (JELET 2020) as well as Joint Examination for Masters in Computer Applications (JECA 2020). The authorities have cancelled the WB JECA and JELET exam 2020 due to the situation brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the entrance examinations have been cancelled, admissions into MCA as well as lateral entry into B.E., B.Tech. and B.Pharm. courses shall be done on the basis of candidate’s performance in the qualifying examinations.
Admissions through JELET 2020
The authorities shall conduct admissions into lateral entry courses on the basis of the following qualifying examinations:

Diploma, or
-
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc)
As the JELET exam 2020 has been cancelled, the authorities shall conduct JELET counselling for already registered candidates as centralized online e-counselling.
Admissions through JECA 2020
WBJEEB shall consider candidate’s performance in the following qualifying examinations for MCA admissions in West Bengal:

Bachelor of Engineering (B.Sc) or
-
Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), or
-
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), or
-
Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), or
-
Bachelor of Arts (B.A), or any other equivalent degree exams
Candidates registered for JECA 2020 shall be eligible to participate in the centralized online e-counselling for provisional admissions into Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course.
WBJEEB authorities shall release a detailed notification for online counselling for WB JECA as well as JELET later. The counselling schedule will be announced and candidates will have to proceed accordingly as per instructions from the officials.
