Primary School Reopen in West Bengal: Integrated Child Development Services centres will also be opened
NEW DELHI: Primary schools and upper primary schools will reopen in West Bengal from February 16 by following all COVID-19 protocols as per the latest order by the West Bengal state government. The Integrated Child Development Services centres will also be opened.
The primary and upper primary schools are reopening in the state under the recommendation of the state executive committee of the West Bengal State Disaster Management Authority. “A separate Standard Operating Procedure will be issued by School Education Department in this regard,” said the order.
The state has extended the COVID-19 restrictions with certain relaxations till February 28. According to the new order, movement of people, vehicles and public gatherings are restricted, except for essential services from 12 am to 5 am.
The order insisted on Covid appropriate behaviour such as wearing masks, practising social distancing and following other COVID-19 protocols.
Schools for Classes 8 to 12, colleges and universities reopened in West Bengal on February 3, 2022. Schools and other educational institutions were shut in West Bengal since January 3, 2022, due to an increase in the Covid-19 cases across the whole country. The schools remained closed in the state till January 31, 2022, after which the state government again extended Covid restrictions in the state to the end of the month.
