NEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Mains 2024) results have been announced for 10.67 lakh candidates who appeared in session 2. A total of 56 candidates have scored a perfect 100 percentile score in the JEE Main results 2024. The NTA score and JEE Main ranks 2024 for BE, BTech papers for all candidates who appeared in session 1 and session 2 have been made available on the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. The NTA JEE Main score card 2024 comprises both session 1 and session 2 scores. For those who appeared in both sessions, the best of two NTA scores will be considered for offering admission, the testing agency had clarified.
The JEE Main rank 2024 will comprise the All India rank (AIR) and the All India category rank. The NTA also said that there will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of scores.
The JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) will be used for admissions through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) and Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Centrally-funded technical institutes and others is done through CSAB based only on JEE Main score.
Whereas, admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) will be done based on JEE Advanced 2024 score. Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates of JEE Mains will be eligible to appear in IIT JEE Adv.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA 2024) counselling will be held for admissions to 118 institutes, including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 38 other technical institutes. There will be a total of six rounds of JoSAA counselling. After each round, the officials will announce opening and closing JEE Main ranks at which admission at each institute was granted.
The counselling process will be held after JEE Advanced exam 2024, scheduled to be held on May 26. JoSAA counselling 2024 process will tentatively begin from June 20.
Students seeking admission in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs should have secured at least 75% marks in the Class 12 examination or be in the top 20 percentile in Class 12 examination conducted by respective educational boards. Reserved category candidates belonging to SC, ST should have obtained at least 65% qualifying marks in the Class 12 board exam.
The CSAB board will organise two rounds of seat allocation to allocate the unfilled seats of the NIT+ System after the 6th JoSAA counselling round. The NIT cut-offs will be announced individually by the institutes. The eligibility criteria will be soon be notified at the official website, https://csab.ac.in/.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) Lucknow, and Madan Mohan Malviya University of Science and Technology Gorakhpur will also use the JEE Main score card for admission to the BTech, MTech (Integrated), BArch courses in its affiliated colleges for the academic year 2024-25.
From this year on, the Government of Goa announced to offer admissions to engineering degree courses in the state engineering colleges through JEE Main.
Students should note that the participating institutes that do not use centralized seat allocation process will issue their own ranking based on JEE rank and other admission policy announced by them.
