WUD announces admissions for PhD in Design

NEW DELHI, JANUARY 04: World University of Design (WUD) has a nnounce d admissions for PhD in Design, Design Management, Visual Arts & Architecture for the academic year 2019 .
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Vice Chancellor, WUD said, “As we progress from the Knowledge Economy towards Creative Economy, there is an increasing need in India for skilled professionals in the area of design. Design can play a crucial role in the development of the nation and work towards improvement of quality of life for all. We at World University of Design are looking forward to initiate research in areas of innovation, public transportation design, healthcare, workwear, interaction, social innovation (health, water and sanitation) and craft and culture among others through the introduction of PhD in Design, Design Management, Visual Arts & Architecture in our curriculum”. Dr Gupta further added, “By pursuing rigorous research in an area that aligns with work by our PhD faculty, our candidates will directly participate in some of the most exciting design-focused work being done today. World University of Design being the top-rated design university in the country will enable early career design researchers to explore a variety of aspects of design knowledge production within an academic institution and will also help them discover and develop new concepts and ideas in areas related to design”.
Admissions to the PhD course are open and the last date for submission of the applications is 11 th January, 2019.
The program aims to impart research training to the scholars and prepare them to carry on independent investigation and original research and to enable them to make a significant contribution to knowledge in their respective field and profession.
The University of Design has International Collaborations with foreign Universities like University of Huddersfield, Oxford Brookes University, UK; Emily Carr University of Art & Design & Vancouver Film School, Canada; École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Industries Textiles (ENSAIT), France.
